Reusing Delivery Drones for Urban Crowdsensing

Chaocan Xiang et al.

Summary: Thanks to the increasing number and massive coverage, delivery drones equipped with various sensors have shown significant potential for large-scale and low-cost urban sensing during package delivery. In this paper, we propose novel studies on the reutilization of delivery drone resources to fill the gap in urban crowdsensing. We optimize route selection, sensing time, and delivery weight allocation to maximize utility under energy constraints, and propose near-optimal algorithms for solving this NP-hard problem.

Centralized Task Allocation and Alignment Based on Constraint Table and Alignment Rules

Nam Eung Hwang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a centralized task allocation and alignment technique based on constraint table and alignment rules. The paper addresses the problems with the existing scoring scheme and proposes a modified time-discounted reward scheme. It also introduces an accumulated distance cost scheme for minimum fuel consumption. The paper discusses the use of a constraint table in scoring and a technique based on sequential greedy algorithm for centralized task alignment. Simulations are conducted to verify the proposed techniques.

A Comparative Approach to Resurrecting the Market of MOD Vehicular Crowdsensing

Chaocan Xiang et al.

Summary: With the failure of MOVE-CS, a new market introduced for drivers to earn more by collecting road data, this study investigates the cause and explores the possibility of resurrecting MOVE-CS by learning from the successful operation model of MOMAN-CS. Analysis of a large-scale dataset reveals that drivers have preferences for short-term gains and also pursue long-term profits. Based on this finding, a novel operation model is designed, which empowers a spatial-temporal differentiation-aware task recommendation scheme, holding the potential to benefit both drivers and the platform.
