Spatial and temporal changes analysis of air quality before and after the COVID-19 in Shandong Province, China

Huaqiao Xing et al.

Summary: Due to the implementation of home quarantine policy during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, the air quality in China, particularly in Shandong Province, has shown improvements. The concentrations of CO and NO2 have decreased, while SO2 remains relatively stable. Aerosol optical depth (AOD) has also increased in January 2020, attributed to urban heating and reduction of pollutants. These findings provide valuable data for atmospheric protection and air quality monitoring, as well as guidance for policy formulation and urban planning.

R Libraries for Remote Sensing Data Classification by K-Means Clustering and NDVI Computation in Congo River Basin, DRC

Polina Lemenkova et al.

Summary: This study utilized the featured application libraries of the R programming language to classify tropical rainforests in the middle Congo River Basin from 2013 to 2022. The libraries of R were effective in remote sensing data processing and a framework for image analysis was formulated using R. The proposed approach was able to process time series images for landscape dynamics monitoring.

Statistical Modeling for PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 at Gangneung Affected by Local Meteorological Variables and PM10 and PM2.5 at Beijing for Non- and Dust Periods

Soo-Min Choi et al.

Summary: The study conducted multiple statistical prediction modeling of PM10, PM2.5, and PM1 in Gangneung city, Korea, in association with local meteorological parameters and concentrations from an upwind site in Beijing, China. It was found that PM concentrations showed different peak trends before and after the yellow dust period, with significant changes in emission sources. New linear regression models were suggested to improve the correlation coefficients between the observed and calculated PM concentrations.
