Summary: The Tripletail is a warm-water pelagic fish increasingly targeted by U.S. anglers, with efforts being made to develop aquaculture due to its superior flesh quality and lack of domestic commercial fisheries. Studies have shown that photo-thermal conditioning and slow-release implants can promote maturation and ovulation in females, while a combination of dopamine antagonist and GnRHa implants can greatly improve fertility. Successful larval feeding protocols have been established, but there is still a need to optimize hatchery and grow-out procedures for Tripletail aquaculture to thrive.

It clarified the role of D. variabilis as a second intermediate host and the older species D. fossor as both first and second intermediate hosts. Molecular analysis showed 100% similarities between larval stages of three digeneans, and new life cycles were provided for some species.
