Highly Emissive Blue Quantum Dots with Superior Thermal Stability via In Situ Surface Reconstruction of Mixed CsPbBr3-Cs4PbBr6 Nanocrystals

Hyeonjung Kim et al.

Summary: A novel strategy for highly efficient and stable cesium lead bromide (CsPbBr3) quantum dots (QDs) was reported, achieved by controlling the ratio of CsPbBr3 to Cs4PbBr6 nanocrystals (NCs) and removing surface defects. The defect-engineered QDs exhibited high colloidal stability and retained over 90% of their initial photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) after more than 120 days of ambient storage. Blue LEDs fabricated from CsPbBr3 QDs with reconstructed surfaces showed a maximum external quantum efficiency of 4.65% at 480 nm and excellent spectral stability.

Ultra-narrow room-temperature emission from single CsPbBr3 perovskite quantum dots

Gabriele Raino et al.

Summary: Semiconductor quantum dots, considered as artificial atoms, have broader emission spectrum than atomic emission lines. By simulating the interactions between excitons and surface phonons, the emission line-broadening in quantum dots can be controlled.

Synthesis-on-substrate of quantum dot solids

Yuanzhi Jiang et al.

Summary: This study reports a new method to directly synthesize suitably coupled, monodispersed, ultrasmall perovskite quantum dot films on a substrate. By developing ligand structures with specific head and tail groups, control over the quantum dots' size, monodispersity, and coupling is achieved. The resulting blue PeLEDs exhibit high external quantum efficiency.

Carbazole-Containing Polymer-Assisted Trap Passivation and Hole-Injection Promotion for Efficient and Stable CsCu2I3-Based Yellow LEDs

Zhuangzhuang Ma et al.

Summary: Perovskite light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are promising light sources for future lighting and display technologies. However, achieving yellow electroluminescence, environmental stability, and lead toxicity are challenges. By incorporating a hole-transporting polymer into the CsCu2I3 emitter, the electroluminescent performance of the LEDs is improved, resulting in significantly enhanced device performances. The external quantum efficiency of the yellow LEDs is increased by 8.5 times, and the half-lifetime reaches 14.6 hours, making them the most stable yellow LEDs based on perovskite systems reported so far.
