Jia-Ruey Ai et al.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of print path and print sequence on the mechanical properties of polycarbonate and polypropylene. The results showed that the interlayer time between printed roads should be controlled within 5 seconds to observe statistical differences in mechanical response. Additionally, the specimen size and raster angle significantly influenced the mechanical properties, with larger effects observed when printing polycarbonate compared to polypropylene.

Mechanical response assessment of antibacterial PA12/TiO2 3D printed parts: parameters optimization through artificial neural networks modeling

Nectarios Vidakis et al.

Summary: This study investigates the mechanical response of antibacterial PA12/TiO2 nanocomposite 3D printed specimens by varying the TiO2 loading in the filament, raster deposition angle, and nozzle temperature. The results show that increasing TiO2 loading decreases the mechanical responses but increases the antibacterial performance of the nanocomposites. Higher nozzle temperatures and zero deposition angles optimize the mechanical performance of all TiO2 nanocomposites. The authors propose improving predictions by utilizing artificial neural network models and genetic algorithms, and expanding the experimental area with additional variable parameters and levels.
