Bifurcations in Holling-Tanner model with generalist predator and prey refuge

Chuang Xiang et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the complex dynamics and bifurcations in the Holling-Tanner model with a generalist predator and prey refuge. The model exhibits various types of bifurcations and can demonstrate multiple coexistent periodic orbits and homoclinic loops. The constant prey refuge prevents prey extinction and induces global coexistence. A significant finding is that the refuge can induce a stable, large-amplitude limit cycle enclosing one or three positive steady states. Numerical simulations are provided to illustrate and complement the theoretical results.

Spatiotemporal patterns of a diffusive prey-predator model with spatial memory and pregnancy period in an intimidatory environment

Cuihua Wang et al.

Summary: This paper integrates spatial memory and pregnancy cycle in a prey-predator model to investigate the effects of predation on the spatial distribution of prey. The findings indicate that both spatial memory and pregnancy cycle play significant roles in the pattern formation of prey-predator interactions.

Hunting cooperation among slowly diffusing specialist predators can induce stationary Turing patterns

Nayana Mukherjee et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the spatio-temporal extension of a prey-predator model with hunting cooperation in specialist predators. The results showed that when the predators had lower dispersal than the prey, stationary Turing patterns and other non-Turing patterns could form. Hunting cooperation among predators supported successful predation.

Effect of Fear, Treatment, and Hunting Cooperation on an Eco-Epidemiological Model: Memory Effect in Terms of Fractional Derivative

Uttam Ghosh et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the impact of memory effect on the behavior of an eco-epidemiological model in an ecological system by incorporating Caputo-type fractional-order derivative. The study reveals that the system exhibits stable, periodic, or chaotic behavior with increasing memory effect, and different equilibrium points are observed. The numerical simulations demonstrate that the growth rate of the prey plays a significant role in determining the survival or extinction of the species.

Pattern dynamics of a reaction-diffusion predator-prey system with both refuge and harvesting

Lakshmi Narayan Guin et al.

Summary: The paper investigates a reaction-diffusion predator-prey model incorporating prey refuge and harvesting, analyzing asymptotic stability and bifurcation conditions to discuss the spatiotemporal dynamics of the system. The results suggest that the cooperation of refuge and harvesting plays a crucial role in controlling spatial pattern formation of the species. Computer simulations reveal typical dynamics of population density variation within the Turing space, including isolated groups like spots, stripe-spot mixtures, and labyrinthine patterns.

Dynamical behavior of a delayed prey-predator-scavenger system with fear effect and linear harvesting

Xin-You Meng et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a delayed prey-predator-scavenger system with fear effect and linear harvesting, analyzes the existence and stability of equilibria, investigates the Hopf bifurcation of the delayed system, and determines the optimal harvesting strategy based on Pontryagin's maximum principle with delay. Numerical simulations are conducted to validate the theoretical results.

The spatially inhomogeneous Hopf bifurcation induced by memory delay in a memory-based diffusion system

Yongli Song et al.

Summary: This paper presents an effective algorithm for computing the normal forms of Hopf bifurcations in memory-based diffusion systems, using a diffusive predator-prey system as a case study. The research demonstrates the direction and stability of delay-induced Hopf bifurcations and confirms the existence of stable spatially inhomogeneous periodic solutions with mode-1 and mode-2 spatial patterns through numerical simulations.

Dynamics of a Food Chain Model with Two Infected Predators

Xin-You Meng et al.

Summary: This paper investigates a three-species food chain model with two predators infected by an infectious disease, analyzing the positivity, boundedness, existence of equilibria, and basic reproductive number of the system. The local stability of all equilibria is obtained, and the global stability is proved by constructing suitable Lyapunov functions and using the geometric approach. The model undergoes backward and forward bifurcations in a certain range of the basic reproductive number R0, with Hopf bifurcation arising near the endemic equilibrium when the disease transmission coefficient of predators is taken as a bifurcation parameter. Furthermore, the optimal control of the disease is discussed using Pontryagin's maximum principle, and various simulations are provided to support the analytical results.

Consequences of refuge and diffusion in a spatiotemporal predator-prey model

Renji Han et al.

Summary: In this study, a predator-prey interacting model with prey refuge in proportion to both the species and Beddington-DeAngelis functional response is proposed and examined. The coefficient of refuge plays a significant role in modifying the system dynamics and mediating the population permanence, stability of coexisting equilibrium, and Turing instability parameter space. Numerical simulations show complex dynamics including prey refugia, self-diffusion controlling spatiotemporal pattern growth, and various spatial patterns like spots, stripes, mixtures, and rings.

Turing patterns and spatiotemporal patterns in a tritrophic food chain model with diffusion

Shengmao Fu et al.

Summary: This paper studies the temporal, spatial, and spatiotemporal patterns of a tritrophic food chain reaction-diffusion model with Holling type II functional response. Through stability and bifurcation analysis, as well as Leray-Schauder degree theory, the existence of positive non-constant steady-states is established. Numerical simulations are used to illustrate the complex dynamic behavior of the model.
