Synthesis, characterization and application of Fe-zeolite: A review

Jie Zhang et al.

Summary: Fe-zeolites are widely used in catalytic fields due to their zeolitic and redox properties. By introducing Fe species into the zeolitic framework, the poor properties of traditional aluminosilicate zeolites can be effectively improved. The state of Fe species in zeolite, determined by introduction methods/conditions and zeolite properties, significantly affects the properties of Fe-zeolite. This review summarizes recent developments in the synthesis, properties, and applications of Fe-based zeolites, providing theoretical reference for future structural design and application of Fe-based zeolites.

Embedding high loading and uniform Ni nanoparticles into silicalite-1 zeolite for dry reforming of methane

Yang Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, a controlled 'dissolution-recrystallization' method was developed to embed high loading and uniform Ni NPs into the shell of hollow silicalite-1 (S-1) zeolite. The Ni NPs maintained a size of about 4-5 nm with increasing Ni loading from 3% to 20%, and exhibited a high reaction rate and density of active sites in the dry reforming of methane reaction. The embedded structure also showed good stability.

Insight into deactivation of the carbon-/sintering-resistant Ni@Silicalite-1 for catalytic partial oxidation of methane to syngas

Ya Gao et al.

Summary: Ni-based catalysts with Ni nanoparticles embedded in S-1 zeolite show high activity/selectivity and resistance to carbon deposition and Ni-sintering. However, they still suffer from deactivation due to the formation of a dense Ni-3(Si2O5)(2)(OH)(2) layer that blocks the contact between Ni and reactants.

Encapsulated Metal Nanoparticles for Catalysis

Chuanbo Gao et al.

Summary: Encapsulating metal nanoparticles in nanoshells or nanopores is a promising strategy to enhance stability and selectivity, taking advantage of the synergy between the metal nanoparticles and encapsulating materials. This approach also allows for improved catalytic properties and enables tandem catalysis in various applications.

Selective Hydrogenation of CO2 to Ethanol over Sodium-Modified Rhodium Nanoparticles Embedded in Zeolite Silicalite-1

Fuyong Zhang et al.

Summary: The Na-Rh@S-1 catalyst shows high productivity and stability for CO2 hydrogenation to ethanol, outperforming most Rh-based catalysts reported to date. Sodium ions play a crucial role in enhancing CO2 conversion and ethanol selectivity by suppressing methane formation, resulting in a more active and selective catalyst for CO2 hydrogenation compared to CO hydrogenation.
