Prevalence and Virulence of Commensal Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Isolates from Healthy Individuals in Southern Vietnam (2018-2020)

Nguyen Bao Vy Tran et al.

Summary: Understanding the colonization of P. aeruginosa in healthy humans is important for future prevention and treatment. This study investigated its prevalence and risk factors in 609 Vietnamese volunteers. It was found that 3.12% of participants were colonized by P. aeruginosa, with a higher likelihood in those with a history of sinusitis.

Silver Nanodot Decorated Dendritic Copper Foam As a Hydrophobic and Mechano-Chemo Bactericidal Surface

Suvani Subhadarshini et al.

Summary: The study investigated the time-dependent antibacterial activity of silver nanodot decorated dendritic copper foam nanostructures against Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis bacteria. The fabricated surface exhibited hydrophobic nature and inhibited the growth of bacterial flora, with scanning electron microscopy showing damaged cellular structures of the bacteria. The synergistic mechano-chemo mode of action involving mechanical disruption and chemical interaction played a key role in the antibacterial effect.
