Convection analysis of the radiative nanofluid flow through porous media over a stretching surface with inclined magnetic field

Muzamil Hussain et al.

Summary: This study explores the flow of nanofluids through porous media across a vertically placed stretching surface, considering the effects of inclined magnetic field and thermal radiations. The highly nonlinear transformed system is solved using a numerical method, and the velocity and temperature distributions of the nanofluids are studied. The results are important for future implementation of innovative heat transfer devices and serve as a valuable reference for nanofluids flow research.

Numerical study on methane/air combustion characteristics in a heat-recirculating micro combustor embedded with porous media

Yunfei Yan et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the temperature distribution and exhaust species in a heat-recirculating micro-combustor embedded with porous media. The results indicate that embedding porous media improves temperature uniformity and preheating capacity. SiC material performs better in thermal stability and heat recirculating than Al(2)O(3) and ZrO2. The optimal equivalence ratio for methane/air combustion is in the range of 0.1-0.5, enabling super-enthalpy combustion.

Significance of Chemical Reaction and Lorentz Force on Third-Grade Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer with Darcy-Forchheimer Law over an Inclined Exponentially Stretching Sheet Embedded in a Porous Medium

Amir Abbas et al.

Summary: The combined impact of a linear chemical reaction and Lorentz force on heat and mass transfer in a third-grade fluid over an inclined, exponentially stretching surface embedded in a porous medium is investigated. The influence of various parameters on material properties of interest is studied using mathematical modeling and numerical simulations. The results show that increasing the Lorentz force parameter decreases fluid velocity but increases fluid temperature and mass concentration. Increasing the chemical reaction parameter decreases velocity profile and mass concentration, but increases fluid temperature. Additionally, increasing the local inertial coefficient and permeability parameter decreases velocity field, increases temperature field, and increases mass concentration. Increasing the Prandtl number decreases velocity and temperature profiles. The findings are validated by comparing with existing literature and satisfying boundary conditions.

Darcy-Forchheimer Relation Influence on MHD Dissipative Third-Grade Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer in Porous Medium with Joule Heating Effects: A Numerical Approach

Amir Abbas et al.

Summary: The current study investigates the influence of the Darcy-Forchheimer relation on fluid flow and heat transfer over an angled exponentially stretching sheet embedded in a porous medium. The effects of magnetic field, Joule heating, thermal diffusion, viscous dissipation, and diffusion-thermo are considered. The model is transformed into ordinary differential equations and numerically solved using MATLAB. The results indicate that the Joule heating parameter increases fluid velocity and temperature. The viscous dissipation parameter increases velocity and temperature but decreases mass concentration. The thermal-diffusion parameter enhances velocity, temperature, and mass concentration. The diffusion-thermo parameter affects velocity, temperature, and mass concentration differently.

Convective Heat and Mass Transfer in Third-Grade Fluid with Darcy-Forchheimer Relation in the Presence of Thermal-Diffusion and Diffusion-Thermo Effects over an Exponentially Inclined Stretching Sheet Surrounded by a Porous Medium: A CFD Study

Amir Abbas et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of thermal-diffusion and diffusion-thermo on heat and mass transfer in a third-grade fluid with a Darcy-Forchheimer relation on an exponentially inclined stretching sheet in a porous medium. The non-linear and coupled partial differential equations are transformed into ordinary differential equations using a similarity variable formulation. The MATLAB numerical solver bvp4c is used to solve the simplified equations. The results show the impact of material parameters on velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles. The findings are compared with existing literature and demonstrate good agreement, validating the present study.

Amir Abbas et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to investigate the magnetohydrodynamic effects on heat and mass transfer in a third-grade fluid flowing past an inclined exponentially stretching sheet in a porous medium. The constitutive equations for heat and mass transportation in third-grade fluid were modeled and solved using MATLAB. The results showed the effects of different parameters on the velocity field, temperature field, mass concentration, skin friction coefficient, Nusselt number, and Sherwood number.

Computations of mixed convection slip flow around the surface of a sphere: Effects of thermophoretic transportation and viscous dissipation

Muhammad Ashraf et al.

Summary: This study examines the effects of thermophoretic motion and viscous dissipation on a two-dimensional fluid flowing along different positions of a sphere with slip flow. Through numerical solutions and graph analysis, the impacts of various parameters on velocity, mass concentration, and temperature, as well as on skin friction and rates of heat and mass transfers, are investigated. The results demonstrate the dominant influence of Eckert number, slip parameter, and thermophoresis parameter on different variables and flow mechanics, emphasizing the benefits of slip flow in enhancing heat and mass transfer mechanisms.
