The cosmological moduli problem and naturalness

Kyu Jung Bae et al.

Summary: In this study, we examine the cosmological moduli problem and its connection to electroweak naturalness. By calculating the decay widths of modulus fields, we find that there are problems such as overproduction of gravitinos and neutralino dark matter under certain conditions. Additionally, we show that the thermally produced gravitino problem can be solved through entropy dilution.

Simplified models for resonant neutral scalar production with missing transverse energy final states

Henning Bahl et al.

Summary: This study focuses on extensions of the Standard Model and additional Higgs bosons, developing a simplified model framework to facilitate future searches for particles beyond the SM. By classifying decay topologies and considering different possibilities for mediator spin and invisible particles, it is shown that different simplified model topologies have only minor differences in kinematic distributions but significant sensitivity in distinguishing between decay topologies. The proposed simplified model framework can help constrain a wide range of BSM models in experimental analyses.

Prospects for Heavy Neutral SUSY HIGGS Scalars in the hMSSM and Natural SUSY at LHC Upgrades

Howard Baer et al.

Summary: This study examines the production and decay of heavy neutral SUSY Higgs bosons in different supersymmetry scenarios, utilizing a combination of back-to-back and acollinear mass peak techniques for signal channels. The evaluation includes exclusion and discovery limits at the LHC, compared to results from a statistical analysis of the string landscape.

Searching for heavy Higgs in supersymmetric final states at the LHC

Amit Adhikary et al.

Summary: The study explores strategies for investigating the extended Higgs sector of the MSSM, focusing on heavy Higgs decays to electroweakinos. By analyzing the allowed MSSM parameter space and taking into account various constraints, the research delves into novel aspects of Higgs to electroweakino decays and demonstrates optimized analysis search strategies for the HL-LHC run. Potential search strategies for heavy Higgs decays to exotic final states are also discussed.

Search for new phenomena with top quark pairs in final states with one lepton, jets, and missing transverse momentum in pp collisions at √s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

M. Aaboud et al.

Summary: The study investigates the search for new phenomena associated with top quark pairs using data recorded by the ATLAS detector, setting limits on certain mass ranges for stop-neutralino and mediator-dark matter particles. No significant excess above the Standard Model background is observed, with stops excluded up to 1200 GeV in certain decay scenarios and dark-matter mediators excluded up to 200 GeV in specific conditions.

Search for top squark production in fully hadronic final states in proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV

A. M. Sirunyan et al.

Summary: The search for top squark production based on proton-proton collision events with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC has led to exclusion limits on the top squark and gluino masses for various production scenarios. Novel algorithms utilizing deep neural networks were employed, resulting in significant improvements over previous supersymmetry searches in the same final state.

High-quality axions in solutions to the μ problem

Prudhvi N. Bhattiprolu et al.

Summary: Solutions to the mu problem in supersymmetry based on the Kim-Nilles mechanism naturally include a DFSZ axion with enhanced couplings, where anomaly-free discrete symmetries play a crucial role in protecting the Peccei-Quinn symmetry. These models require at least one pair of strongly interacting vectorlike multiplets at an intermediate scale to be free of the domain wall problem, making them promising for proposed axion searches.
