Linear and Nonlinear Optical Characterization of Dye-Polymer Composite Films Based on Methylcellulose Incorporated with Varying Content of Methylene Blue

Summary: The study focused on the compositional dependence of the linear and nonlinear optical characteristics of dye-polymer composite films based on methylcellulose-methylene blue. It was found that the optical properties were improved when methylene blue was incorporated into methylcellulose, making the composite a potential candidate for multifunctional applications like optoelectronic and photonic devices.

Dielectric dispersion and relaxations in (PMMA/PVDF)/ZnO nanocomposites

Summary: In this study, the effects of ZnO nanoparticles on PMMA/PVDF blend were investigated by using solution-cast technique to prepare nanocomposites. FTIR and SEM studies were conducted to analyze the properties. The results showed that the nanocomposites exhibited high dielectric constant and low dielectric loss, making them suitable for capacitors and memory device applications.

Honeycomb-like V2O5 Based Films: Synthesis, Structural, Thermal, and Optical Properties for Environmental Applications

Summary: In this study, new composite films consisting of hierarchical nanobelt V2O5 and polymer mixture were prepared via a simple casting method. The films showed a honeycomb-like structure with abundant micro-voids, higher roughness, and suitable UV-visible light-sensitive properties. The composite films exhibited enhanced thermostability and potential for photocatalytic degradation of toxic pollutants.

Synthesis of CuO nanoparticles stabilized with gelatin for potential use in food packaging applications

Summary: In this study, a method for synthesizing gelatin-stabilized copper oxide nanoparticles was developed. The pH value and ionic strength of the solution were found to affect the stability of the nanoparticles. Applying CuO nanoparticles to food packaging can extend the shelf life of products, as demonstrated through experiments with cheese.

Effect of addition of TiO2 nanoparticles on structural and dielectric properties of polystyrene/polyvinyl chloride polymer blend

Summary: This study investigated the addition of pure titanium oxide nanoparticles (TiO2 NPs) prepared by the sol-gel technique to a PS/PVC polymer blend, and the effects on its electrical conductivity and optical properties. The results showed that the inclusion of TiO2 NPs improved the electrical conductivity and optical properties of the PS/PVC blend.

Hydrothermal synthesis of copper (II) oxide-nanoparticles with highly enhanced BTEX gas sensing performance using chemiresistive sensor

Summary: In this study, CuO-NPs were successfully synthesized using the cost-effective and facile hydrothermal synthesis technique, with XRD, FTIR, UV-Vis, and SEM analysis showing a monoclinic structure with an average crystallite size of 20 nm and an energy band gap of E-g. The fabricated chemiresistive sensor based on CuO-NPs demonstrated great potential for qualitative detection of BTEX chemicals vapors, such as Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene.
