Antimicrobial activity of chemically and biologically synthesized silver nanoparticles against some fish pathogens

Hanan A. Ghetas et al.

Summary: Pathogens isolated from fish have significant antimicrobial resistance, posing challenges to economy and public health. Natural antimicrobial substitutes, particularly silver nanoparticles, show potential in combating antibiotic resistance. This study compared biologically produced silver nanoparticles from Origanum vulgare leaves with chemically produced ones and found that the biological production is safer and more effective. The antimicrobial properties of the silver nanoparticles offer promising possibilities for managing fish diseases and improving human health.
