Gibberellins promote polar auxin transport to regulate stem cell fate decisions in cambium

Riikka Makila et al.

Summary: Vascular cambium contains bifacial stem cells that produce secondary xylem and secondary phloem. The fate of stem cell daughters depends on the positioning of an auxin signalling maximum within the cambium, which is regulated by gibberellin and PIN1-dependent polar auxin transport.

Multi-omics analysis reveals the ontogenesis of basal chichi in Ginkgo biloba L.

Xiaoyan Men et al.

Summary: The study found that the levels of tZ, SA and ABA were highest in basal chichi, and the ratio of IAA/tZ was the lowest. It is speculated that auxin and cytokinin play important roles in the morphogenesis of basal chichi, with cytokinin being the major player. The ontogenesis of basal chichi is closely linked to environmental stress.
