Automatic identification and annotation of MYB gene family members in plants

Boas Pucker

Summary: This study implemented a pipeline in Python for the automatic identification and functional annotation of MYB genes in plant genomes and transcriptomes. The pipeline was tested on the transcriptome of Croton tiglium and the annotated genome of Castanea crenata. The results demonstrate the potential of this application for genome-wide investigations and comparative studies.

Transcriptomic and Metabolomic Analysis of Quality Changes during Sweet Cherry Fruit Development and Mining of Related Genes

Chaoqun Chen et al.

Summary: This study determined the mechanism of fruit quality changes in sweet cherries by analyzing their development stages. The results showed drastic changes in soluble sugar, anthocyanin content, and hormones during the color transition. Metabolome and transcriptome analysis revealed different sugars and flavonoid species in sweet cherries. Key structural genes and transcription factors involved in various synthesis pathways were identified. Positive regulatory significance on anthocyanin accumulation was observed for specific transcription factors.

Single-cell analysis clarifies mosaic color development in purple hydrangea sepal

Kumi Yoshida et al.

Summary: Hydrangea sepals display a variety of colors such as red, purple, and blue, derived from the same components. The color mosaic is a result of graded differences in intravacuolar factors. Experimental evidence demonstrates phenotypic differences in cell color variation without direct genomic control.
