Multi-Omics Analysis of Low-Temperature Fruiting Highlights the Promising Cultivation Application of the Nutrients Accumulation in Hypsizygus marmoreus

Ming Gong et al.

Summary: This study conducted a comprehensive multi-omics analysis to elucidate the molecular mechanism of low-temperature fruiting after a long postripening (LFLP) in Hypsizygus marmoreus. The results revealed that the changes in pH were closely correlated with variations in citrate and arginine. By enhancing the enzyme activity of the arginine synthesis branch pathway in the citrate cycle, the levels of citric acid and arginine were synergistically increased, providing enriched materials for amino acid biosynthesis. Furthermore, GCN2 mediated metabolic adaptation through enhanced protein translation. Exogenously added citric acid and arginine shortened the postripening period and increased the yield.

Label-Free Comparative Proteomics Analysis Revealed Heat Stress Responsive Mechanism in Hypsizygus marmoreus

Lili Xu et al.

Summary: Heat stress response in Hypsizygus marmoreus involves autolysis and apoptosis of mycelia, mediated by upregulation of cell wall degradation enzymes and inhibition of cell wall synthesis enzymes, and induction of ROS and caspases, respectively. Accumulation of ROS triggers antioxidant defense system activation and MAPK cascade involvement in signal transduction. Additionally, inducible expression of heat shock proteins and upregulation of trehalose synthesis enzymes were found, along with proteasome upregulation to prevent protein misfolding. Energy production enzymes were also upregulated to maintain cellular processes during heat response.
