TEtraQuinolines: A Missing Link in the Family of Porphyrinoid Macrocycles

Summary: Quinoline, a neglected synthon, has been successfully synthesized as a 'missing link' in the N4 macrocycle family. The resulting TEQs possess a highly rigid saddle shape and can coordinate a series of transition-metal cations. TEQ/Fe(II) complexes show catalytic activity in dehydrogenation and oxygenation reactions with low catalyst loadings.

Bioinspired manganese complex for room-temperature oxidation of primary amines to imines by t-butyl hydroperoxide

Summary: A sustainable method for the synthesis of imines from primary amines was developed using a bioinspired manganese complex (MnCl2(TPA)) catalyzed by TBHP at room temperature. The method showed high efficiency and excellent product yield, and the catalytic performance was influenced by various reaction parameters. This method not only has a wide substrate scope, but also shows promising potential for various oxidation reactions.

Direct synthesis of amides and imines by dehydrogenative homo or cross-coupling of amines and alcohols catalyzed by Cu-MOF

Summary: The oxidative dehydrogenative homo-coupling of amines to imines and cross-coupling of amines with alcohols to amides can be efficiently achieved at room temperature in THF using Cu-MOF as a heterogeneous catalyst with high to moderate yields. Different primary benzyl amines and alcohols can be utilized for the synthesis of various amides and imines. The Cu-MOF catalyst can also be recycled and reused four times without losing catalytic activity.
