Stoichiometric metal nitration based novel green synthesis of mesoporous metal oxides and their enhanced heterogeneity

Shubhashish Shubhashish et al.

Summary: A general and novel method for the green synthesis of mesoporous metal oxides via stoichiometric metal nitration was demonstrated in this study. The effect of Pluronic surfactants on the synthesis procedures and surface area was experimentally studied. Water was used as the solvent, and the highest or comparable surface areas were successfully synthesized for various metal oxides.

Syntheses of gold supported on metal oxides and their application in organic transformations

Shubhashish Shubhashish et al.

Summary: This study presents a synthesis method for gold supported on metal oxides. The supported materials show higher crystallinity compared to unsupported systems. The gold support remains in its metallic state, while most of the other metals are observed to be in their oxide form. The gold supported catalysts exhibit enhanced activity and product selectivity in organic transformation reactions.

Highly Mesoporous MoO3 Catalysts for Electrophilic Aromatic Substitution

Shubhashish Shubhashish et al.

Summary: A straightforward synthesis method for highly mesoporous molybdenum oxide has been demonstrated using inverse micelles and molybdenum-oxo cluster formation. The synthesized catalyst is stable, crystalline, and phase pure MoO3, and shows 65 times higher activity than commercial parts. These materials exhibit excellent catalytic performance as solid acids in electrophilic substitution reactions.

Selective Oxidative Coupling of Amines Using Mesoporous MoOx Catalysts

Shubhashish Shubhashish et al.

Summary: Highly porous molybdenum oxide was synthesized via molybdenum-oxo cluster formation under acidic conditions, showing extraordinary stability and higher valences of molybdenum compared to commercial standards. The optimized hydrogen peroxide solvent system led to materials with large pore diameters and high pore volumes, serving as effective catalysts for amine coupling reactions. The presence of surface hydroxyl species on the catalyst aided in solid acid catalysis to promote the reaction.
