An Experimental Study on Progressive and Reverse Fluxes of Sediments with Fine Fractions in the Wave Motion over Sloped Bed

Iwona Radosz et al.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to collect experimental data on sediment fluxes during the wave crest and trough phase over a sloped bed. Measurements were conducted using the particle image method and sediment transport rates and granulometric distributions were recorded. Results were compared with previous data collected over a flat bed and a theoretical analysis based on a three-layer model. A modified model is proposed to account for sediment fluxes over a sloped bed, improving the consistency of the calculations with the measurements.

Transport of Sediment Mixtures in Steady Flow with an Extra Contribution of Their Finest Fractions: Laboratory Tests and Modeling

Jerzy Zawisza et al.

Summary: This paper presents the experimental results on the transport of water-sandy mixtures with fine non-cohesive fractions in steady flow. Flow and shear velocity measurements were conducted, as well as measurements of sediment amount. A theoretical model of the vertical structure of velocity and concentration of sediment fractions, as well as vertical mixing and sorting, is presented for transport calculations. The model considers the interaction effects between fractions and achieves satisfactory agreement with measurements in terms of transport rate and grain size distributions.

Modeling of Sediment Transport with a Mobile Mixed-Sand Bed in Wave Motion

Leszek M. Kaczmarek et al.

Summary: A multilayer model is proposed to calculate time-dependent sediment velocity and concentration profiles with resulting sediment transport. The model shows good accuracy in describing transport behavior under different conditions, as evidenced by the consideration of measurable quantities and verification.

An Experimental Study on Progressive and Reverse Fluxes of Sediments with Fine Fractions in Wave Motion

Iwona Radosz et al.

Summary: The study aimed to collect experimental data on the vertical structure of sediment fluxes during the wave crest and trough phase. The data were compared with a theoretical analysis based on a three-layer model, and a modification of the model was proposed to account for additional factors. The modified model achieved reasonable consistency with the experimental measurements.
