RGB-D SLAM in Dynamic Environments Using Point Correlations

Weichen Dai et al.

Summary: In this paper, a method for simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) is proposed to eliminate the influence of moving objects in dynamic environments. The method utilizes the correlation between map points to separate static scene points and points belonging to different moving objects into different groups. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves robust and accurate performance in various environments.

UnrollingNet: An attention-based deep learning approach for the segmentation of large-scale point clouds of tunnels

Zhaoxiang Zhang et al.

Summary: This study develops a novel projection-based learning method named UnrollingNet for multi-label segmentation of 3D point clouds. The approach involves collecting raw point clouds using 3D laser scanning, creating 2D representations through an unrolling projection technique, and employing a U-net-based segmentation algorithm for pixel-level tunnel classification. To address class imbalance issues and enhance segmentation performance, a pixel-weight cross-entropy loss and a dual attention module are proposed. A case study of a real cross-river tunnel section in China demonstrates the high performance of the established model in point cloud projection and multi-class segmentation compared to other deep-learning-based point cloud segmentation models.

DP-SLAM: A visual SLAM with moving probability towards dynamic environments

Ao Li et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel visual SLAM system named DP-SLAM, based on a sparse feature model with a moving probability propagation for dynamic keypoints detection. By integrating geometry constraints and semantic segmentation, the system tracks dynamic keypoints within a Bayesian probability estimation framework. Experimental results demonstrate improved performance in challenging scenarios, showing potential for enhancing state-of-the-art SLAM systems.
