Interface Healing Between Adjacent Tracks in Fused Filament Fabrication Using In-Process Laser Heating

Pu Han et al.

Summary: In this work, an in-process laser heating method is introduced to improve the anisotropic mechanical properties of parts built using fused filament fabrication. The laser heating promotes polymer reptation and enhances bonding strength between adjacent tracks, resulting in increased flexural strength.
