Single-Material OECT-Based Flexible Complementary Circuits Featuring Polyaniline in Both Conducting Channels

Lorenzo Travaglini et al.

Summary: The organic electrochemical transistor (OECT) with a conjugated polymer as the active material serves as the elementary unit of organic bioelectronic devices. By utilizing a complementary circuit with PANI as the channel material in both transistors, low power consumption and excellent performance can be achieved. This PANI-based circuit demonstrates a gain of approximately 7 and operates effectively in aqueous electrolyte on a flexible biocompatible chitosan substrate.

Optical characterization of non-thermal plasma jet energy carriers for effective catalytic processing of industrial wastewaters

M. Y. Naz et al.

Summary: An argon plasma jet was sustained in open air to treat industrial wastewater containing mixed textile dyes and heavy metals. The use of photocatalytic TiO2 enhanced plasma treatment efficiency, especially for degradation of dyes, by producing mixed anatase and rutile phases of TiO2. The plasma jet emitted excited argon, OH, excited nitrogen, excited oxygen, ozone, and nitric oxide, which decomposed organic pollutants and separated heavy metals from water samples.

Optical Emission Spectroscopy as a Diagnostic Tool for Characterization of Atmospheric Plasma Jets

Rok Zaplotnik et al.

Summary: A suitable technique for localized surface treatment of solid materials is an atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ), whose properties are influenced by details like gaseous impurities concentration. The simplest configuration of APPJ using optical emission spectroscopy (OES) is discussed along with results from various studies. Studies show that surface treatment is limited by the area reached by the reactive radicals.

Improvement of the Uniformity and Electrical Properties of Polyaniline Nanocomposite Film by Addition of Auxiliary Gases during Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Polymerization

Jae-Young Kim et al.

Summary: The effect of adding small amounts of auxiliary gases to PANI nanocomposite films during plasma polymerization at atmospheric pressure was investigated. The addition of argon or nitrogen significantly improves the uniformity and regularity of the films, while adding oxygen weakens these properties. PANI films synthesized with a small amount of nitrogen show the best electrical resistance and resistance changing behavior after external I-2 doping compared to other gases.
