Functional, cognitive, and nutritional decline in 435 elderly nursing home residents after the first wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic

Summary: This study aimed to compare the functional, cognitive, and nutritional status before and after the first wave of COVID-19 among nursing home residents. The results showed significant functional, cognitive, and nutritional decline after the first wave, particularly in depressive symptoms. There were no significant differences found between COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients, except for the prevalence of malnutrition.
