Resilience, Stress, Well-Being, and Sleep Quality in Multiple Sclerosis

Anne Marie Novak et al.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the levels of stress, resilience, well-being, sleep quality, and fatigue in Israeli people with MS (PwMS). The findings revealed that Israeli PwMS had higher levels of stress, lower resilience, and worse sleep quality compared to PwMS in other countries. These results should serve as a call to action for MS care providers in Israel and warrant further research into the causes and strategies to address this phenomenon.

What Do We Know About Aging and Emotion Regulation?

Derek M. Isaacowitz

Summary: Despite other age-related declines, older adults report high levels of affective well-being. Current evidence does not provide consistent support for the belief that older adults are better at emotion regulation. Future research should investigate individual trajectories of stability and change in emotion-regulation strategy use and effectiveness, considering context, physiological reactivity, neural changes, acceptance, and personality factors.

Summary: This study explored the experiences of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) during the COVID-19 pandemic. It found that the main impact was on emotional and social well-being, with high levels of fear and vulnerability throughout the pandemic. The impact on social well-being increased over time, while physical health remained largely unaffected. Patients used self-management skills to maintain a sense of well-being.
