Cost-effectiveness Analysis of Nutrition Facts Added-Sugar Labeling and Obesity-Associated Cancer Rates in the US

Mengxi Du et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the cost-effectiveness of added-sugar labeling in reducing obesity-associated cancer rates in the US. The policy was found to be associated with a reduction in new cancer cases and deaths, as well as cost savings in medical care. Additional industry reformulation to reduce added-sugar amounts in packaged foods and beverages could further increase health gains and cost savings.
