This paper examines the prediction of renewable energy usage in the water and wastewater industry. Various approaches have been proposed to showcase energy recovery techniques and the adoption of renewable energy in wastewater treatment. The findings suggest that a carbon tax increase of more than 30 USD per ton of CO2 could result in a 30% reduction in emissions from all fossil-fuel power plant types.
