Disaggregating proportional multistate lifetables by population heterogeneity to estimate intervention impacts on inequalities

Summary: Simulation models are important tools for estimating the health impact of interventions. This study aimed to disaggregate a specific type of simulation model to quantify the impact of interventions on health inequalities. The authors developed an algorithm to accurately retain population counts at each time step while disaggregating the model by factors such as socioeconomic status. The algorithm was demonstrated using deprivation quintiles in New Zealand and tested with different intervention scenarios.

Cold housing: evidence, risk and vulnerability
