Red tape, slow emergency, and chronic disease management in post-Maria Puerto Rico

Global mental health research and practice: a decolonial approach

There is currently a consensus to decolonise global mental health, but the transition from rhetoric to action is still unclear. In the context of the COVID-19 study, a HEROES decolonial team approach has been developed, incorporating principles of epistemic justice, pragmatic solidarity, and sovereign acts to address these challenges and promote equitable dialogue.

It Hurts but It's the Thing We Have to Do: Puerto Rican Colonial Migration

Summary: This study utilized a theoretical triangulation approach to examine the premigration conditions, migration reasons, and migration decision making of Puerto Ricans who migrated to the United States between 2006 and 2017. The role of family in migration decision making was highlighted, and three core categories and six subcategories were identified to depict Puerto Rican premigration experiences in Florida. The study sheds light on important determinants of premigration stress and postmigration adjustment among Puerto Rican migrants.
