Investigating persistent scatterer InSAR (PSInSAR) technique efficiency for landslides mapping: a case study in Artvin dam area, in Turkey

Bulent Volkan Yazici et al.

Summary: This study investigates the efficiency of Persistent Scatterer Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PSInSAR) in monitoring land surface displacements, proposing two validation methods to ensure accuracy. Results show that the displacements calculated by the PSInSAR method are consistent with reference points' measurements. The specific objectives are to present solutions to validation challenges, demonstrate the effectiveness of PSInSAR, and outline remaining challenges in PS analysis for landslide applications in dam areas.

PS-InSAR based validated landslide susceptibility modelling: a case study of Ghizer valley, Northern Pakistan

Sajid Hussain et al.

Summary: The study conducted in Northern Pakistan's Ghizer district focused on landslide inventory and susceptibility modeling, using the Frequency Ratio (FR) model and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach to analyze the correlation between causative factors and landslides. The application of PSI InSAR technique revealed high deformation velocities in the susceptible zones, with the models showing high prediction accuracy and identifying slope, barrenness, and geology as key factors influencing landslide activities in the area. The developed susceptibility index maps can help in delineating hazardous zones for future landslide disasters and serve as a planning tool for decision-makers in development projects.

Optimized landslide susceptibility mapping and modelling using PS-InSAR technique: a case study of Chitral valley, Northern Pakistan

Sajid Hussain et al.

Summary: The study applied PS-InSAR technique to estimate slope deformation velocity for optimizing landslide susceptibility mapping in the area. Frequency ratio and logistic regression models were used for comparative assessment and predicting correlations with landslide occurrence. LR method showed superior results and in combination with PS-InSAR, an optimized susceptibility model was developed to mitigate landslide disasters and support management of development programs in the area.

Time and path prediction of landslides using InSAR and flow model

Priyom Roy et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel method for predicting the time and path of landslides using remote sensing data and a new technique. By analyzing ground deformation trends and displacement time series data, the time and flow path of landslides can be predicted. This study is significant for improving the accuracy of landslide early warning in hilly areas.

Combined analysis of PS-InSAR and hypsometry integral (HI) for comparing seismic vulnerability and assessment of various regions of Pakistan

Uqba Ramzan et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the surface deformation analysis associated with the 2019 earthquake in Mach and Quetta, Pakistan, using InSAR-based deformation analysis and the geomorphic hypsometric integral (HI) technique. The results show changes in velocity and vertical displacement during different stages of the earthquake. The combination of HI and PS-InSAR techniques reveals the vulnerability and future seismic activity of the studied regions. This information can be used for identifying vulnerable seismic sites and for urban planning.
