Translation, Cross-Cultural Adaptation and Psychometric Properties of the Urdu Version of Lysholm Knee Score for Pakistani Population

F. Sharif et al.

Summary: This study translated and culturally adapted the Urdu version of the Lysholm knee score, calculated its reliability and validity through various tests, and examined its correlations with other relevant scores. The results showed that the Urdu version has good internal consistency and test-retest reliability, making it a valid and reliable tool for patients with patellar tendinopathy.

Ultrasound-guided dry needling versus traditional dry needling for patients with knee osteoarthritis: A double-blind randomized controlled trial

Johnson C. Y. Pang et al.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the effect of ultrasound-guided dry needling (DN) with traditional DN in the treatment of pain and dysfunction for patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA). The results showed that ultrasound-guided DN with exercise therapy may be more effective than traditional DN with exercise therapy or exercise therapy alone in reducing pain.

A Comparative Study of Treatment Interventions for Patellar Tendinopathy: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Maria Pilar Lopez-Royo et al.

Summary: The study showed that dry needling or percutaneous needle electrolysis combined with eccentric exercise is not more effective than eccentric exercise alone for improving disability and pain in patients with patellar tendinopathy. Clinical improvements were not associated with structural changes in the tendon.

Dry needling strategies for musculoskeletal conditions: Do the number of needles and needle retention time matter? A narrative literature review

Raymond Butts et al.

Summary: Both acupuncture and dry needling are minimally invasive treatments for neuromusculoskeletal pain conditions, with insertion of multiple needles over a longer duration showing better treatment effects. The optimal treatment dosage remains uncertain, with the number of needles and retention time being critical variables in matching with specific musculoskeletal conditions.
