Magnetic Signature of Gold Deposits: Example from Um Garayat Region, South Eastern Desert, Egypt

Mohamed Mostafa Gobashy et al.

Summary: Magnetic methods have shown efficiency and potential in the gold mineralization industry. Applying digital magnetic filters can enhance interpretation and identification of gold opportunities. The Um Garayat (UG) region in southeastern Egypt is a potential area for gold mining, and exploiting its magnetic signature for investment is of great interest.

Hydrogeochemical and geophysical investigations to delineate underground water aquifer in arid regions: A case study, Gara oasis, Egypt

Mohamed Nazih et al.

Summary: The study investigated and evaluated the shallow Miocene groundwater aquifer in the Gara oasis of the western desert of Egypt, finding that fracture zones control the groundwater aquifers and water flow in the area, with the main ions in the groundwater being Na and Cl, likely due to ion-exchange processes caused by water-rock interaction.

Future Development of Gold Mineralization Utilizing Integrated Geology and Aeromagnetic Techniques: A Case Study in the Barramiya Mining District, Central Eastern Desert of Egypt

Mohamed M. Gobashy et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the potential for future gold mining development in the Barramiya district of Egypt's Central Eastern Desert using geophysical aeromagnetic and geological studies, including remote sensing technologies. Remote sensing techniques and aeromagnetic data analyses successfully delineated the distribution of ophiolitic ultramafic belts and their associated alteration zones. The results suggest potential deep gold mineralization in areas with low magnetic susceptibilities, with new anomalies identified for further exploration.

Magnetometric Identification of Sub-basins for Hydrocarbon Potentialities in Qattara Ridge, North Western Desert, Egypt

M. Abdelazeem et al.

Summary: This study aims to detect Phanerozoic sedimentary sub-basins and their hydrocarbon potential within the Qattara Ridge in the northern Western Desert of Egypt through the interpretation of high-resolution land magnetic data. The research demonstrates structurally controlled sub-basins and their relation to hydrocarbon reservoirs, as well as variations in magnetic anomalies in the area.
