A cutoff value for the Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index in determining activity of Behcet disease

E. Tanacan et al.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the efficiency of the Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII) in determining the activity of Behcet disease (BD). Results showed significantly higher levels of white blood cells, platelets, neutrophils, and SII in patients with active BD upon admission. SII may be used as an additional indicator for assessing BD status and physicians should be cautious in patients with SII levels of > 552 x 10(3)/mm(3) at the initial evaluation.

Evaluation of the laboratory parameters in hidradenitis suppurativa: Can we use new inflammatory biomarkers?

Tubanur Cetinarslan et al.

Summary: This study investigated the performance of inflammatory biomarkers in patients with Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) and found that C-reactive protein (CRP) still maintains its value compared to new inflammation markers. Among the markers, Monocyte/HDL ratio (MHR) may be more useful in indicating inflammation in HS patients.

The utility of systemic-immune inflammation index for predicting the disease activation in patients with psoriasis

Didem Dincer Rota et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the utility of SII in managing patients with psoriasis and found that SII can be used for predicting psoriasis activation, with higher SII values in patients with high PASI scores and involvement of nail and genital areas.

Rosacea: New Concepts in Classification and Treatment

Esther J. van Zuuren et al.

Summary: Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that primarily affects the face and can greatly impact the quality of life and self-esteem of individuals. In addition to general skincare, there are various treatment options available, both topical and systemic, to address the different features of the condition. Ongoing research is focusing on understanding the underlying mechanisms and developing new therapeutic interventions.
