Study of wide bandgap SnOx thin films grown by a reactive magnetron sputtering via a two-step method

Y. Zakaria et al.

Summary: In this study, SnOx thin films were deposited using reactive radio frequency magnetron sputtering, and their microstructural and optoelectronic properties were investigated. It was found that the best compromise between electrical conductivity and optical transmission can be achieved by growing the films with an O-2/Ar ratio of 1.5% at 250 degrees C and performing vacuum post thermal annealing.

Inorganic Electron Transport Materials in Perovskite Solar Cells

Liangyou Lin et al.

Summary: Over the past decade, there has been significant progress in the development of perovskite solar cells (PSCs), with improvements in power conversion efficiency and long-term stability making them competitive candidates for next-generation photovoltaics. This review focuses on the advancements in inorganic electron transport materials (ETMs) for PSCs, particularly the three most prevalent materials (TiO2, SnO2, and ZnO) and their applications in tandem devices. Strategies to optimize the performance of the electron transport layer (ETL) in PSCs and the impact of ETL on device stability and efficiency are also discussed.

Efficient perovskite solar cells via improved carrier management

Jason J. Yoo et al.

Summary: Metal halide perovskite solar cells have shown great potential to disrupt the silicon solar cell market with their improved performance, yet still face limitations in light-harvesting due to charge carrier recombination. Efforts to enhance charge carrier management offer a path to increase device performance and approach the theoretical efficiency limit of PSCs.

Summary: By incorporating gallium(iii) acetylacetonate into organic hole-transporting materials without additional surface treatment processes, the interface engineering strategy efficiently reduces the recombination loss and enhances the performance of perovskite solar cells. This method significantly improves the power conversion efficiency of PSCs and maintains stability without hygroscopic additives, showing a promising route for high performance and commercialization.
