Thermal and electrical transport in partly-reduced graphene oxide films: The effect of low temperature and structure domain size

Tingting Chen et al.

Summary: By adjusting the annealing temperature, the density of oxygen-containing functional groups and the structural domain size of PRGO film are controlled. The temperature dependency of thermal and electrical transport is studied, and a linear relationship between thermal diffusivity and electrical conductivity is confirmed. The effect of structure domain size on the thermal and electrical transport of PRGO is revealed.

Summary: Chemical doping of the graphene hole transport layer has a significant impact on the open-circuit voltage (V-OC) of SBUV photovoltaic detectors, leading to an increase in external quantum efficiency (EQE). Modulating the Fermi level of graphene can effectively enhance V-OC and improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency of photovoltaic devices.

Differences in the structure and functionalities of graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide obtained from graphite with various degrees of graphitization

Igor Bychko et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the correlation between the structure of pristine graphite and the structural and catalytic properties of synthesized GrO and rGrO. The formation of different nitrogen-containing groups in rGrO is associated with the treatment of GrO with hydrazine. The crystallinity of graphite is found to influence the structure, surface functionality, and catalytic properties of rGrO.

Summary: This study investigates the electrical and optical characteristics of GO and RGO films by performing electric impedance measurements, optical microscopy, and variable angle spectroscopic ellipsometry tests. The results show that the electric resistance of RGO films is significantly lower than that of GO films. Additionally, thermal annealing enhances the optical conductivity and absorption coefficient of GO films.

A two-step chemical-hydrothermal reduction method to prepare reduced graphene oxide with high electrical conductivity

Xiaodong Jiang et al.

Summary: This study develops a two-step reduction method to produce rGO with high electrical conductivity, leading to the generation of C-H-rGO with less defects, excellent thermal stability, and high C/O ratio. The C-H-rGO exhibits remarkably higher electrical conductivity and specific capacitance compared to C-rGO and H-rGO, making it an important material for supercapacitor electrodes.

Quantum-dot-like electrical transport of free-standing reduced graphene oxide paper at liquid helium temperatures

O. O. Voitsihovska et al.

Summary: This study presents the electrical properties of macroscopic free-standing reduced graphene oxide paper (RGOP) with 60% sp2-carbon content at liquid helium temperatures. Quantum dots formed by graphene domains determine the material properties. At low temperatures, the electrical conductivity of RGOP can be described by the model of tunneling of charge carriers through a disordered quasi-2D quantum dot array. Charge carriers in the free-standing RGOP are localized in the quantum dots due to Coulomb blockade at a temperature of 4.2 K. The transfer of charge carriers in RGOP at liquid helium temperatures is achieved through tunneling between energetically close but spatially distant graphene domains.

Study of of Optical and Electrical Properties of Graphene Oxide

Neeraj Sharma et al.

Summary: This work investigates the optical and electrical properties of Graphene oxide (GO) and its variation after reduction. Synthesis of GO material was conducted using the modified Hummers' method, followed by reduction through voltage application. Characterization was done using XRD, SEM, Raman spectroscopy, and UV-Vis spectroscopy, which revealed differences in peak values, transmittance, and bandgap between GO and reduced GO (rGO). The study also measured sheet resistance and calculated the figure of merit for rGO as a transparent electrode.
