Structural Parameter Interdependencies in Computational Models of Cognition

Antonia Krefeld-Schwalb et al.

Summary: Computational modeling of cognition allows measurement of latent psychological variables through adjustable model parameters, but estimation and interpretation of the parameters may be impaired if there are strong intercorrelations within the model. Strong parameter interdependencies are especially likely in models that combine a subjective value function with a probabilistic choice rule.

Smartphones and the Neuroscience of Mental Health

Claire M. Gillan et al.

Summary: Improvements in understanding the neurobiological basis of mental illness have not resulted in major advances in treatment. Smartphone-based research methods have the potential to complement lab-based neuroscience research and provide rich data sets for researchers to understand the relationship between brain function and mental health.
