A new subspecies of Calceolaria nivalis, C. nivalis subsp. lanatifolia, is described and depicted in this article. The new subspecies was collected in the Uchumarca district of La Libertad, Peru, at elevations ranging from 2300 to 3850 m. Calceolaria nivalis subsp. lanatifolia is distinguished by its hairy lower leaf surface, villous petioles, peduncles, and pedicels, and internally strigose sepal margins.
