Promoting action of vitamin E and black seed oil on reproductive hormones and organ histoarchitecture of Swiss albino mice

Afrina Mustari et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that black seed oil, vitamin E, or their combination have a promoting effect on the reproductive functions of mice, particularly significant impacts on the testes and ovaries. In male mice, black seed oil significantly increased the testosterone level, while the combination of vitamin E and black seed oil showed significant increase in thyroxin. However, in female mice, there were no significant changes in estradiol and thyroxin levels. Histomorphological examination of the ovaries revealed that mice fed with black seed oil, vitamin E, or both exhibited a higher number of follicles at different stages compared to the control group.
