Effects of 3 MeV Proton Irradiation on Superconductivity and CDW in 2H-NbSe2 Single Crystals

Wenjie Li et al.

Summary: The interplay between superconductivity and charge-density wave (CDW) in 2H-NbSe2 single crystals irradiated by 3 MeV protons is investigated. It is found that both Tc and TCDW decrease monotonically with increasing irradiation dose. This is in contrast to electron-irradiated NbSe2, where TCDW is suppressed monotonically with dose increase, while Tc initially enhances before decreasing. This difference is attributed to the negative pressure effect observed in our previous study on NbSe2 irradiated by heavy ions.

Proton Irradiation Effects on the Superconducting Properties of Fe(Se,Te) Thin Films

Daniele Torsello et al.

Summary: Ion irradiation of Fe(Se,Te) films was studied to develop Fe(Se,Te) coated conductors. It was found that the films were robust against proton induced damage and an increase in critical current was achieved by introducing pointlike defects. However, damage induced in the substrate also played a crucial role in modifying film properties through variation of the strain exerted on the film.

Intermediate scattering potential strength in electron-irradiated YBa2Cu3O7-δ from London penetration depth measurements

Kyuil Cho et al.

Summary: In this study, controlled artificial disorder was induced in a high-quality optimally doped YBa2Cu3O7-δ single crystal using electron irradiation, causing a significant suppression of the superconductor's critical temperature and a transition in the low-temperature behavior of the London penetration depth λ(T). The evolution of the superfluid density was analyzed by varying the amount and strength of nonmagnetic scattering, providing insights into the scattering potential strength and phase shift.

Scaling laws for ion irradiation effects in iron-based superconductors

Daniele Torsello et al.

Summary: This study presents ion irradiation experiments on compounds of the BaFe2As2 family, revealing clear scaling laws for modification rates with displacements per atom and power law dependence on ion energy. The experiments cover a wide range of ions and energies, and the results provide insights into the irradiation-induced effects on superconducting critical temperature and normal state resistivity.
