Nematic state of the FeSe superconductor

Sahana Roessler et al.

Summary: This study investigates the crystal structure and phase transition of tetragonal iron selenide (FeSe) using synchrotron x-ray and neutron scattering. The analysis in both real space and reciprocal space reveals that the orthorhombic distortion associated with the nematic order is more pronounced at short length scales and survives to temperatures above 90 K. The study also observes a pseudogap appearing below 20 K in the real-space pair distribution function analysis.

Evolution of Shape and Volume Fraction of Superconducting Domains with Temperature and Anion Disorder in (TMTSF)2ClO4

Kaushal K. Kesharpu et al.

Summary: In the highly anisotropic organic superconductor (TMTSF)(2)ClO4, embedded superconducting domains were analyzed using the Maxwell-Garnett approximation, revealing an oblate shape influenced by cooling rate and annealing time. The anisotropic resistivity drop at the superconducting onset and anisotropic Tc can be explained by considering the sample's finite size and shape. This theory may be applied to other heterogeneous superconductors with large domain sizes compared to the coherence length, such as cuprates, iron-based, or organic superconductors.

Observation of an electronic order along [110] direction in FeSe

Kunliang Bu et al.

Summary: Multiple ordered states have been observed in unconventional superconductors. The authors apply scanning tunneling microscopy to probe the intrinsic ordered states in FeSe and observe a checkerboard charge order along [110] direction. The [110] electronic order in FeSe is robust at 77 K and forms domains with reduced correlation length at 4.5 K.

Anisotropic zero-resistance onset in organic superconductors

Vladislav D. Kochev et al.

Summary: The study investigates the coexistence of superconductivity and density-wave state in organic superconductors, explaining observed experimental data by considering the finite size and flat needle shape of samples. This analysis provides a way to estimate the volume fraction and typical size of superconducting islands far from the sample surface, and can be applied to various inhomogeneous superconductors, including high-Tc cuprate or Fe-based ones.
