Flexible Ceramic Film Sensors for Free-Form Devices

Summary: Recent technological innovations have greatly accelerated the development of new free-form sensors for flexible, wearable, and three-dimensional electronic devices. Ceramic film sensors, in particular, are in high demand for reliable flexible devices. Strain sensors and photodetectors have seen the most research development, while other fundamental sensors for temperature and humidity are also growing. Flexible gas and electrochemical sensors have recently attracted a lot of attention for real-time monitoring applications.

Wearable Strain Sensors Based on a Porous Polydimethylsiloxane Hybrid with Carbon Nanotubes and Graphene

The sensor exhibited superior gauge factors, ultralow detection limit, fast response time, good stability and durability, and frequency-/strain-dependent sensing performances. It showed wide application prospects in smart wearable devices for detecting various human motions.
