The proton charge radius

H. Gao et al.

Summary: This review examines the latest situation concerning the proton charge radius, with particular focus on electron-scattering measurements. The importance of accurate knowledge about the proton charge radius for understanding quantum chromodynamics and bound state quantum electrodynamics calculations is discussed, along with the theoretical backgrounds and recent developments in determining the proton charge radius using different experimental techniques. Upcoming experiments and the puzzle of the deuteron charge radius are also mentioned.

Quantum phase effects for electrically charged particles: converging descriptions via fields and potentials

A. L. Kholmetskii et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the physical meaning of quantum phase effects from a new perspective, focusing on the newly discovered quantum phases for electric/magnetic dipoles and point-like charged particles. The direct link between the quantum phase of a moving charge in an EM field and the interactional electromagnetic momentum is established, providing a better understanding of the physical meaning of quantum phase effects.

Klein-Gordon equation for electrically charged particles with new energy-momentum operator

A. L. Kholmetskii et al.

Summary: This paper addresses the issue of negative probability density solutions in the Klein-Gordon equation for a spinless charged particle in the presence of an electromagnetic field. The authors propose a solution by abandoning the customary definition of the momentum operator and adopting the more general definition through the sum of mechanical and electromagnetic momenta. The application of this new energy-momentum operator to the equation eliminates solutions with negative probability density.

Quantum phase effects for electrically charged particles: Updated analysis

A. L. Kholmetskii et al.

Summary: We present an updated analysis of the total expression for the Aharonov-Bohm phase of a charged particle in an electromagnetic field. The full set of quantum phase effects for a moving charged particle is disclosed, which allows an important update of the wave-particle duality concept by generalizing the de Broglie relationship.
