Hepatoprotective Efficacy and Interventional Mechanism of Qijia Rougan Decoction in Liver Fibrosis

Xiao-Feng Chen et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects and mechanisms of Qijia Rougan decoction, a modified traditional Chinese medicine, on liver fibrosis. The results showed that Qijia Rougan decoction significantly attenuated hepatic fibrotic injury and improved liver function and fibrosis. It regulated processes such as oxidation-reduction, fatty acid metabolism, cell adhesion, and TGF beta signaling, and inhibited inflammatory reactions and fibrosis-related TGF beta signaling. This study deepened our understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of liver fibrosis using traditional Chinese medicine.

Apigenin Alleviates Liver Fibrosis by Inhibiting Hepatic Stellate Cell Activation and Autophagy via TGF-β1/Smad3 and p38/PPARα Pathways

Jie Ji et al.

Summary: The study confirmed that apigenin can reduce liver enzymes, suppress ECM generation, inhibit HSC activation, regulate MMP2 and TIMP1 balance, decrease autophagy protein expression, and restrain the TGF-beta 1/Smad3 and p38/PPAR alpha pathways, ultimately alleviating liver fibrosis.
