Simultaneously enhanced permeability and stability in Al doped Pr0.6Sr0.4FeO3-6 oxygen transport membrane for CO2 capture

Yanbo Liu et al.

Summary: A modified strategy is urgently needed to improve the oxygen permeation flux and stability of membranes under CO2 atmosphere. By doping with Al ions, the PSFAl OTM shows high oxygen permeability and stability, making it a promising candidate for CO2 capture.

Water interaction with B-site (B = Al, Zr, Nb, and W) doped SrFeO3-δ-based perovskite surfaces for thermochemical water splitting applications

Sha Chen et al.

Summary: Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were used to investigate the interaction of water with doped SrFeO3-delta surfaces, considering the effects of metal dopants, surface oxygen vacancies, and oxygen ion migration. The results showed that metal dopants enhanced the adsorption and dissociation of water, while surface oxygen vacancies promoted dissociative adsorption and H-2 formation. In addition, Al doping facilitated oxygen migration from the surface to the subsurface. This study provides important insights into the interaction of doped SrFeO3-delta perovskite materials with water for thermochemical water splitting applications.

Oxidation and Storage Mechanisms for Nitrogen Oxides on Variously Terminated (001) Surfaces of SrFeO3-δ and Sr3Fe2O7-δ Perovskites

Akihiko Takamatsu et al.

Summary: In this study, the adsorption and oxidation properties of NOx on the (001) surfaces of RP-type oxide Sr3Fe2O7-delta were investigated by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The SrO-terminated surface generated by cleavage at the rock salt layer was found to be the most stable and active in oxygen release. This facilitated the oxidation of NO to NO2 and promoted NOx binding to the surface by forming nitrite (NO2-) or nitrate (NO3-) species. The RP-type structure was shown to enhance NOx oxidation and storage properties by creating active oxygen through Jahn-Teller distortion and exposing SrO-terminated surfaces through cleavage at the rock salt layer.

First-principles studies of oxygen ion migration behavior for different valence B-site ion doped SrFeO3-δ ceramic membranes

Sha Chen et al.

Summary: Density functional theory calculations were used to study the structural, electronic, and oxygen ion migration properties of B-site ion doped SrFeO3-delta perovskite materials, showing that different dopants affect Fe-O and M-O bond lengths, as well as the valence state of Fe ions, and have different effects on oxygen ion migration.

Exploring reaction mechanism of CO oxidation over SrCoO3 catalyst: A DFT study

Xiaonan Cui et al.

Summary: In this study, density functional theory calculations were used to investigate the oxidation mechanism of CO on the SrCoO3 surface. The results showed that CO and O2 adsorption on the SrCoO3(1 0 0) surface are mainly controlled by chemisorption, with the Co-terminated surface being more active for CO oxidation. CO oxidation mainly proceeds via the Mars-van Krevelen mechanism due to the lower energy barrier.
