Independent Variables for Determining the Cumulative Live Birth Rates of Aged Patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or Tubal Factor Infertility: A Retrospective Cohort Study

Yichun Guan et al.

Summary: This study compared the cumulative live birth rate (CLBR) between women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and age-matched controls with tubal factor infertility. The study found that despite PCOS patients retrieving more oocytes, their reproductive window is not extended compared to tubal factor infertility patients. Age, AMH level, and the number of retrieved oocytes play crucial roles in the CLBRs of patients of advanced age (& GE;35 years).

Comparison of Cumulative Live Birth Rate Between Aged PCOS Women and Controls in IVF/ICSI Cycles

Zhuoyao Mai et al.

Summary: This study found that women with PCOS aged 35 years and older had a higher cumulative live birth rate over two years of IVF/ICSI cycles compared with age- and BMI-matched controls. Factors such as the number of transferable embryos and antral follicle counts were significant predictors of cumulative live birth.

Endometrial function in women with polycystic ovary syndrome: a comprehensive review

Stefano Palomba et al.

Summary: Studies have shown differences in endometrial function in women with PCOS compared to healthy controls, with clinical characteristics of the syndrome contributing to dysregulation. Current interventions with the highest scientific evidence for clinical benefit in improving endometrial dysfunction in PCOS women include lifestyle modifications, metformin, and bariatric surgery. Further large-scale randomized controlled clinical trials are needed to address possibilities for reversing endometrial dysfunction in this population.
