SRSF1 plays a critical role in invariant natural killer T cell development and function

Jingjing Liu et al.

Summary: Invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells, originating from CD4(+)CD8(+) thymocytes, are regulated by serine/arginine splicing factor 1 (SRSF1) through direct targeting of Myb and balance of isoform abundance. SRSF1 deficiency leads to defects in iNKT cell development, particularly in the iNKT2 subset, and resistance to acute liver injury induction. This study highlights the essential post-transcriptional regulatory role of SRSF1 in iNKT cell development and functional differentiation.
