DEP-induced ZEB2 promotes nasal polyp formation via epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition

Mingyu Lee et al.

Summary: Exposure to diesel exhaust particles (DEP) may promote nasal polyposis through the induction of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). ZEB2 may be a therapeutic target for DEP-induced epithelial damage and related airway diseases.

PGC1α Cooperates with FOXA1 to Regulate Epithelial Mesenchymal Transition through the TCF4-TWIST1

Xue-Quan Fang et al.

Summary: PGC1 alpha is a critical transcriptional coactivator that maintains metabolic homeostasis and energy expenditure. Its deficiency promotes lung cancer metastasis through the cooperation with FOXA1 and ID1 in regulating EMT gene expression. Transforming growth factor beta1 regulates ID1 expression, which in turn affects the expression of EMT genes. The findings suggest that FOXA1 and PGC1 alpha-mediated ID1 expression is associated with the inhibition of TCF4 and TWIST1, which are involved in lung cancer metastasis.

PGC1α Loss Promotes Lung Cancer Metastasis through Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition

Taek-In Oh et al.

Summary: Despite therapeutic advances, lung cancer remains one of the most dangerous cancers with a low 5-year survival rate due to metastasis and recurrence. The cooperation of TCF4-TWIST1 controlled by the PGC1 alpha-ID1 transcriptional axis is suggested to mediate EMT and lung cancer metastasis, presenting a potential diagnostic and therapeutic target. Studies show that PGC1 alpha and ID1 are downregulated in lung cancer and correlate with poor survival rates.

Highly accurate protein structure prediction with AlphaFold

John Jumper et al.

Summary: Proteins are essential for life, and accurate prediction of their structures is a crucial research problem. Current experimental methods are time-consuming, highlighting the need for accurate computational approaches to address the gap in structural coverage. Despite recent progress, existing methods fall short of atomic accuracy in protein structure prediction.
