Nanocrystal Ordering Enhances Thermal Transport and Mechanics in Single-Domain Colloidal Nanocrystal Superlattices

Zhongyong Wang et al.

Summary: Colloidal nanocrystal assemblies show promise for various applications, but using them in actual devices can be challenging. This study finds that colloidal PbS nanocrystal superlattices with long-range order have higher thermal conductivities and Young's moduli compared to comparatively disordered nanocrystal films. The improved properties are attributed to enhanced ligand-ligand interactions in the superlattices.

Signatures of Coherent Phonon Transport in Ultralow Thermal Conductivity Two-Dimensional Ruddlesden-Popper Phase Perovskites

Alexander D. Christodoulides et al.

Summary: The newly developed RP phase perovskites based on MAPbI(3) show enhanced environmental stability compared to MAPbI(3) but degrade at elevated temperatures. Experimental results reveal that the thermal conductivities decrease with increasing n, primarily due to the influence of coherent phonons and reduced group velocity in RP phases.
