Mechanical behavior of the HfNbZrTi high entropy alloy after ion irradiation based on micro-pillar compression tests

Shengyuan Peng et al.

Summary: This study investigates the evolution of mechanical properties of HfNbZrTi alloy after ion irradiation through micropillar compression tests. The results show that the yield strength of the alloy increases linearly with irradiation doses, with a similar strengthening mechanism as conventional alloys. However, the irradiation strengthening effect is less pronounced in the low dose regime.

Atomistic understanding of incipient plasticity in BCC refractory high entropy alloys

Xiaorong Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the initial dislocation nucleation and motion mechanisms in TaTiZrV high-entropy alloys (RHEAs) and their dependence on temperature through molecular dynamics simulations. The short-range orders in the RHEA facilitate preferential inhomogeneous nucleation at low stress, while compositional fluctuation affects the slipping and moving rate of dislocations. Moreover, the difficulty of initial dislocation nucleation increases with temperature.

Atomistic insights of a chemical complexity effect on the irradiation resistance of high entropy alloys

Lingyun Qian et al.

Summary: The study found that high entropy alloys and multicomponent alloys have fewer defects and smaller defect clusters, showing better irradiation resistance performance. Multicomponent alloys perform better than pure Ni. The complexity of high entropy alloys and multicomponent alloys leads to lattice distortion and hysteresis diffusion effects, improving irradiation resistance.

Plasma Hsp90 levels in patients with systemic sclerosis and relation to lung and skin involvement: a cross-sectional and longitudinal study

Hana Storkanova et al.

Summary: According to the study, plasma levels of Hsp90 are increased in patients with systemic sclerosis compared to healthy controls, and are associated with increased inflammatory activity, worsened lung function, and extent of skin involvement in patients with diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis. In patients with systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease treated with cyclophosphamide, baseline Hsp90 levels can predict changes in DLCO over 12 months of therapy.

Atomic-Scale Hidden Point-Defect Complexes Induce Ultrahigh-Irradiation Hardening in Tungsten

Summary: Tungsten exhibits high strength in extreme environments, but irradiation hardening limits its service life. Research suggests that ultra-high irradiation hardening in tungsten mainly originates from atomic-scale hidden point-defect complexes.
