Role of CD68 in tumor immunity and prognosis prediction in pan-cancer

Jingwei Zhang et al.

Summary: CD68 expression is associated with cancer prognosis and immune infiltration, and inhibiting CD68-dependent signaling may be a promising therapeutic strategy for immunotherapy in various tumor types.

Change of tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte of associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma

Wei Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, the role of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the feasibility of associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) for massive HCC were evaluated. The results showed that ALPPS treatment significantly increased the proportion of tumor necrosis volume after one week. In the preoperative period, high infiltration of CD8(+) T cells was associated with increased tumor necrosis.

ALPPS Improves Survival Compared With TSH in Patients Affected of CRLM Survival Analysis From the Randomized Controlled Trial LIGRO

Kristina Hasselgren et al.

Summary: ALPPS appears to improve survival in patients with CRLM and a standardized future liver remnant (sFLR) of less than 30%, compared to TSH. The follow-up results showed a higher proportion of tumor-free patients in the liver among those who underwent ALPPS surgery, with a significantly longer estimated median survival than patients who underwent TSH surgery.

The Role of p53 Signaling in Colorectal Cancer

Magdalena C. Liebl et al.

Summary: The transcription factor p53 is a crucial tumor suppressor that is often mutated or dysregulated in colorectal cancer (CRC), promoting tumorigenesis. Mutations in p53 reduce its tumor suppressor activity and can even provide neo-morphic functions that contribute to cancer development.

Prognostic significance of CD163+tumor-associated macrophages in colorectal cancer

Tao Xue et al.

Summary: Infiltration of CD163+ TAMs in CRC tissue is an independent adverse factor for the prognosis of CRC patients, with high-level infiltration associated with shorter overall survival and disease-free survival.

Associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) in colorectal liver metastases: review of the literature

Danilo Coco et al.

Summary: The liver is a common site for metastasis in colorectal cancer patients, and surgical resection is the main option for longer survival. ALPPS technique has been introduced as a promising method to accelerate FLR hypertrophy, but it comes with high morbidity and mortality risks. More research is needed to validate its theoretical benefits in real survival outcomes.
