Magnetic solid-phase extraction of atrazine with ACC@NiCo2O4@Fe3O4 nanocomposite in spice and water samples

Ozgur Ozalp et al.

Summary: A simple, effective and selective magnetic solid-phase extraction method was developed for the separation and quantitative determination of atrazine from spices and water samples. The optimized MSPE-LC procedure achieved a high extraction efficiency under pH 7, 0 mg adsorbent amount, 5 minutes total adsorption-desorption time, and a 20 enrichment factor. The recovery values for the magnetic solid-phase extraction method in spices and water samples were between 91% and 94%. The HPLC-DAD method determined the limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) for atrazine as 0.5 ng mL(-1) and 1.7 ng mL(-1), respectively.

Rapidity and Precision of Steroid Hormone Measurement

Shigehiro Karashima et al.

Summary: Steroid hormones are present in all organisms and are widely used in the medical field. Monitoring hormone levels helps assess physiological changes associated with aging, disease risk, and disease diagnosis and treatment effects. Mass spectrometry-based methods are more specific for measuring steroid hormones compared to immunoassays, but they come with higher costs and technical requirements.

Solid-phase analytical derivatization as a tool for the quantification of steroid hormones in human urine with HPLC-Q-ToF detection

E. V. Dmitrieva et al.

Summary: The possibility of applying solid-phase analytical derivatization (SPAD) for quantifying seven steroid hormones in human urine was investigated. The proposed method involved enzymatic hydrolysis, followed by SPAD with hydroxylamine. The method was optimized to achieve high recovery values and demonstrated applicability for routine analysis of real urine samples using reversed-phase ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry.

Simultaneous quantification of steroid hormones and endocannabinoids (ECs) in human hair using an automated supported liquid extraction (SLE) and LC-MS/MS - Insights into EC baseline values and correlation to steroid concentrations

Clarissa Daniela Voegel et al.

Summary: Endogenous steroid hormones and endocannabinoids were quantified in hair samples using a sensitive LC-MS/MS method. The study found no significant differences in steroid and EC concentration levels between males and females in hair, except for testosterone and androstenedione. The concentrations of cortisol to cortisone and testosterone to androstenedione were positively correlated, and there were significant intercorrelations between endocannabinoids.
