Second-Line Myocardial Perfusion Imaging to Detect Obstructive Stenosis Head-to-Head Comparison of CMR and PET

Summary: This study compared the diagnostic performance of selective myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) using 3.0-T cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and 82rubidium positron emission tomography (RbPET) in patients with suspected obstructive stenosis at coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA). The results showed that CMR and RbPET had similar sensitivities but RbPET had higher overall accuracy.

Diagnostic accuracy of quantitative flow ratio for assessment of coronary stenosis significance from a single angiographic view: A novel method based on bifurcation fractal law

Summary: The study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of computing FFR from a single angiographic view in patients with intermediate coronary stenosis. The results showed that the mu QFR, computed based on the Murray bifurcation fractal law, had high feasibility and excellent diagnostic accuracy in identifying hemodynamically significant coronary stenosis. The use of this method could potentially lead to wider adoption of physiological assessment in the catheterization laboratory due to its short analysis time and good reproducibility.

Age and functional relevance of coronary stenosis: a post hoc analysis of the ADVISE II trial

Summary: The study found that the hyperaemic response of the microcirculation to adenosine administration is age-dependent. FFR values increase with patient age, while iFR values remain constant across the age spectrum. These findings help explain differences in functional stenosis classification observed with hyperaemic and non-hyperaemic coronary indices.

Mortality Prediction by Quantitative PET Perfusion Expressed as Coronary Flow Capacity With and Without Revascularization

Summary: This study aimed to explore the relationship between reduced quantitative perfusion parameters and mortality with and without revascularization. It found that severely reduced CFR and stress perfusion incurred increasing size-dependent risks, with severely reduced CFC associated with the highest major adverse cardiac event rate and mortality risk. Small regions of CFCsevere predicted high risk due to border zones at risk around the severe center, and this risk could be reduced by revascularization.
